SM, may I know if after we have POP as a cadet in our school do we still hold our rank? Meaning to say, cadets still call us by our rank when we help out in training etc.

SM, I would like to feedback that BLK 245 and 246 has lots of mosquitoes especially near the staircases. Also, I after flipping through the 63rd COC Graduand List, I felt that some schools have more than 2 cadets who attended the course. I understand from my school's CO that only a cap of 2 cadets are allowed to enter, however in the end some school have alot, as much as up to above 5, whereas some only got 1 or even NONE. I hope SM can look into these 2 issue and give some respond. With great thanks !
sm a suggestion maybe like those that are very commint in ncc but their fitness cannot you retain their rank as co then when they pass their nafa get broze and meet the standard for promo then they get c/2lta as i think this is a good way as many ppl that fail atleast they get to go for coc and po with their friend and those ppl will not lose interest in ncc like this 2 years
1. You can still attend the C/Offr course if you are a AM but you must be schooling either at ITE, Poly or JC.
2. Fitness is part of being a member of this Corps. You are free to join other CCA, pls do not compare. It's very childish.

SM, just a feedback based on the NCC 2014 Workplan West/Air and East/Sea Senior Spec Course is on ITE/JC/Poly Holiday and Central Senior Spec Course clash with Poly Duration i think is abit unfair toward Instructor who are interested to sign up for Central Senior Spec Course as an Instructor i think you should consider changing Central SSC to a week early so is fair all 3 courses is on ITE/JC/Poly Holiday. Also you can have more instructor for Central Senior Spec Course.

and also, the teachers in my school mentioned that there will be a new CCA point system next year which will allow for cadets to change CCA every year, does it mean that my friends from other CCA will be able to join NCC in sec 3 as well?
SM, Just a suggestion i think COC every school should only be allowed to send 2-3 per course so there won't be cases like some school sending 5-6 and some school sending 1 or none. We should also allowed people who are very passionate and is non-SSC Trained to sign up may be to allowed them to go through interview by DC to test their abilities.Cause chances are people who are very passionate they will learn SSC or any other NCC syllabus on their own. Some elite school have 30 cadets per platoon to be selected for Senior Spec Course chances are very low. However school with only 15-20 cadets their chances are higher to be selected for the course. It is not very fair to sch that have 0 senior spec trained interested to apply and it will lesser down the number of cadet officers and also is not fair toward Sea & Air District as they already have very lack of cadet officer. Also, i think instead of having so many lectures for Cadet Officer course we switch it to more Trainfire, IFC, Foot Drills and Arms Drill it look more essential for Cadet Officers cause chances are their knowledge may be rusty after O or N lvl. I think going Advance Drill/Senior Specialists Course as a minimum Course APC appointment should be a requirement for C/LTA rank. Because i think is essential for Cadet Officer to run a Senior Leadership course.
SM, what are the exact dates for the FSD comp for each district? Also, when will there be selections for the SYFOC RSM? What if a SSG is better than the rest who are MSGs?
1. We can't force school units to send cadets to attend the NCC Cadet Offr course.
2. It has been deliberated and decided that only cadets who attended SSC are allowed to attend the C/Offr Course. Pls do not question this issue anymore.
3. That is the issue of the school units and not HQ if their cadets do not wish to attend the C/Offr course.
4. We are in the midst of fine tuning the lessons for the C/Offr Course.
5. The FSD/PDS competition dates will be reflected in the 2014 NCC Workplan. Wait for the website to be up. Your CO has the workplan.
6. For SYFOC RSM appt you must be a MSG to attend the selections so the SSG performance does not make a difference.
7. There is no more Spec Cse anymore, only Spec Assessment. I will let your school unit CO to explain.

Anonymous : Hi there, I'm from 8/13 batch of ADC . Personally I feel whether or not a cadet has the ADC patch or not it is not impt. Pride comes from within, learning and experiencing from the course. Some CLTs, even though ADC trained, don't wear the patch as well.

Hi SM, can I sign up for AM if I have not completed my NS? I just graduated from my secondary school education last year and is keen in joining the Associate Member of NCC.
SM, many school's CLT go COC and then go missing in action till they go NS, i think these people just go COC to get the title of Cadet Officer, and even in my school also. I'm not trying to "Pauto" them so that I can go COC this year, but if they have the will to attend COC they should commit and serve NCC. Alot of them say they need to attend school, but I personally attended course and saw many familiar faces I'd seen before in previous course, which means that there are Cadet Officers who can manage their time well to cope both NCC and their studies. So it means that education is not an excuse to stop serving NCC.
2. KZJing Kaixa - After the course we can only hope they will contribute and serve the Corps.
3. It depends on your CO whether to enrol you for the course.
4. You will be informed soon about the Specialist Assessment format. In a nut shell Cadet Leaders will come and take the TF, IFC and GSK test. That is all.

SM, I understand that you'll have read such comments many times but may I ask what are the difference between AM and CLT. Also, I'm curious about whether how the cadets in school will address the AMs and if AM can assess the cadets on their assessment and so on. Thank-you.
1. It depends on which ICEP. It varies from 2 to 10 cadets.
2. Please check with Cadets who have attended SSC or ADC on how to place badges on uniform. There is no change in placing the badges whether on pixelised or camouflage uniform.
SM, for NDP Trainer, is it only for cadet officers, or master sgt and above? Cause last year there are some trainers who are MSG selected for ndp trainer.

Hi SM, will new Associate Members be able to get a new set of uniform? As mine is the woodlands camo, I don't have the new digital camo uniform.

1. Visiting Pearce Airbase does not entitle you to the ICEP badge.
2. You need to be a black belt in TKD to earn the badge.
3. Those who went for Taiwan mountain trekking can wear the Adventure badge.
4. The FSD document dropbox will be up in the first week of Jan 14.
5. The PT test is a critical component for the NCC C/Offr selections. To be a leader you must be fit and a role model.
6. HQ NCC does not issue new uniform to AM's.

The Archery Course is for the NSF Trainers only.

2. Please check with the cadets who attended the course from your school. They have been briefed.

4. Only Cadet Leaders and above can join the SYFOC GOH marching contingents after selections.

I'm not trying to "Pauto" them so that I can go COC this year, but if they have the will to attend COC they should commit and serve NCC. Alot of them say they need to attend school, but I personally attended course and saw many familiar faces I'd seen before in previous course, which means that there are Cadet Officers who can manage their time well to cope both NCC and their studies. So it means that education is not an excuse to stop serving NCC.

1. Only one cadet per sch unit can attend ADC
2. KZJing Kaixa - After the course we can only hope they will contribute and serve the Corps.
3. It depends on your CO whether to enrol you for the course.
4. You will be informed soon about the Specialist Assessment format. In a nut shell Cadet Leaders will come and take the TF, IFC and GSK test. That is all.
5. You can't wear both.
6. East/West DC will inform the school units concerned on the dates for the Specialist Assessment.
7. The next basic PDS course will be in Mar sch holidays. No info yet on the dates and which sch hosting it.
8. You can obtain the 2014 NCC Workplan from your unit CO.

From this year onwards, if a Cadet did not attend Snr Specs Course last year they won't be able to join the NCC Cadet Officers Course.
