OCS EXPERIENTIAL CAMP

As part of the SAF–NCC Affiliation, Officer Cadet School (OCS) conducts the annual residential 3 Day 2 Night OCS Experiential Camp for selected NCC Cadet Officers and Senior Specialist. The camp will be held from 4 Oct to 6 Oct 11 at OCS, SAFTI Military Institute. If you are interested, contact your District office to register. NCC 110 ROAD RELAY - 23 June 2011

Ladies & Gentlemen,

1. HQ NCC will be organising a NCC 110 road relay on 23 June 2011 from approximately 0730 to 1800 hr.

2. I need the support of the NCC Associate Members, NCC Running Club and the Cadet Officers to cover the route from the 4 cluster end points to NCC Campus.

7. The more runners the merrier as this run is done during the day to attract the media and public attention as we celebrate NCC's 110th Anniversary.

2011 2nd NCC Silent Precision Drill Squad Competition Finals

Greetings, the 2nd NCC Silent Precision Drill Squad Competition Finals was concluded yesterday. I would like to thank the Parents, Teachers, supporters and all the Cadet performers for making yesterday's event a huge success and a memorable one. I would like to thank all the volunteers that assisted me in conducting this annual event smoothly. I take pride in your passion to serve the Corps.

I must acknowledge that there were some dispute on the results. The 3 judges and myself have reviewed the video and we have come to a decision that the weapon slipped but did not drop and hence Yishun Town is the Champions for 2011.

With your fruitful feedback, next year i will have to include a deduction of points for slipped rifles too. This is my 2nd year in organising this event and with your constant and constructive feedback, i will improve the processes of the competition.

Once again, THANK YOU for the wonderful journey you have provided and my next big task is the NCC DAY PARADE where the President of Singapore will be gracing the parade and the NCC Anniversary Relay Run. Cheers.

60th NCC CADET OFFICER MODULAR COURSE

Greetings, the pre course brief for the 60th NCC Cadet Officer Modular Course is scheduled on 19 Mar, 0900 hr at NCC theatrette. A detailed briefing of the modular course will be conducted that morning.

I am urging all Cadets who aspire to be a Leader to subscribe to this modular course that would not be so taxing to impede your studies. Phase 1 of the course will be conducted from 4 to 8 Apr (5 days only) I staked my reputation for this course to be conducted in Apr and i hope the numbers will roll in quickly.

For Cadets who have submitted their forms, kindly contact your CSO to reactivate the submission. For Cadets who have not, i hope you will step up and be counted to join this course as we have made a major adjustment to accommodate your studies.

I hope 40 or more Cadets will subscribe to this modular course. You can still assist NCC HQ as you will be awarded the NCC Associate Membership status in the interim period till you graduate at the end of the year with the 61st batch.

NCC 110 YEARS ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

Greetings, NCC will be celebrating its 110th Anniversary this year. HQ NCC is planning an array of activities to celebrate this special year. One of the highlights is to conduct a relay run to rejoice but not to compete. I would like to seek your ideas, views or suggestions on how you would like this relay run to be conducted. Let me start off first. My idea is to start the relay run from a NCC school unit and passing the NCC flag to the next school until the flag passes all NCC school units and ends at HQ NCC with a carnival. Each school will have runners to carry the flag and pass it on to the next school. Just a thought. Any better ideas ?

A major parade will be held on 15 Jan 2011 at NCC Campus for Chairman NCC Farewell Parade. He has served NCC for 23 years and we want to give him a resounding farewell with a grand parade. Rehearsals will be on 7 Jan (PM), 8 Jan (AM) and on 15 Jan from 0900 hr till the actual parade on the same day at 1900 hr. To all NCC Associate Members, kindly note that the NCC Associate T-shirt is in progress and the 2nd batch of Appointment Letter would be ready soon. I will inform you when all is ready for collection. If you do not have the NCC workplan, kindly drop me an e mail and i will send you the soft copy.


ANNOUNCEMENT NO. 2

To all NCC Cadet Officers, kindly note that we are setting up an admin office for you when you conduct any camps or courses. It is situated at Blk 245, level 3 (the former East/West District office). The office will have 2 stand alone computers and printing facilities. I will also be installing about 30 lockers in this office for your usage. These lockers are to be used when you are at HQ conducting a 1-day or non-residential courses. Nothing is to be kept overnight in the lockers.
For camps and courses, you can draw the keys to the Cadet Officers bunks from Logistics Branch. After the course, kindly ensure the bunks are cleaned and all blankets, pillow cases and bedsheet are returned to Logistics Branch. The Course OIC would be responsible and he/she is to return the bunk keys to Logistics Branch after the course or camps. Nothing is to be left in the cupboards. Kindly pass the word around on this new system that will be adopted from now. The Cadet Officers (Ops Room) would be fully operatinal by 22 Feb 2010.

HQ NCC would be setting up a NCC Running Club. We intent to send a least 2 teams to compete in this year's Army Half Marathon. Trainings will commence in late Feb. 2nd NCC Freestyle Exhibition Drill Competition 2010

Greetings, kindly be informed that the 2nd NCC Freestyle Exhibition Drill Competition would be held on the following dates in the morning as follows:

Central District - 26 Feb

East District - 20 Feb

West District - 27 Feb

Sea/Air District - 6 Mar

Grand Finals - 20 Mar

The Admin Instruction complete with the rules and regulations would be sent to the school units by mid Jan.

Greetings, the SAF Chevrons Club will be organising an outdoor X'mas party on 19 Dec at Singapore Discovery Centre from 0930 to 1400 hr.

Singapore Youth Olympic Games 2010

YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES 2010

1. The Singapore Youth Olympic Games Committee is requesting for 100 volunteers from NCC to participate as Victory Ceremony Flag Bearers. Only NCC Cadet Officers are allowed to apply. Cadet Officers who are on Year 2 JC are prohibited from applying. Applicants must have a minimum height of 1.6m

2. Training sessions have been scheduled to level up your tasks as follows:

1st Briefing Session - 4/12/09 2 hr AM
2nd Briefing Session - 12/01/10 2 hr PM
1st Training Session - 15 to 20 Mar 10 3 hr AM
2nd Training Session - 12 to 17 Apr 10 3 hr AM
Friendship Games - 20 to 30 May 10 3hr PM
Integrated Training - 7 to 19 Jun 10 3 hr AM
Integrated Rehearsals - 2 to 11 Aug 10 3 hr PM
Youth Olympic Games - 14 to 26 Aug 10

3. The selection criteria are as follows:
a. Boys or Girls between 17 to 24 years
b. Able to commit at least 5 continuous day of volunteer hours during the Games time.
c. Ability to commit additional training and on site familiarization before the Games.
d. Confident to appear in public events.

4. Kindly note that you will be scheduled for shift duties during the games.

Design a Uniform for NCC Precision Drill Team

The uniform used will be a signature attire whenever NCC Silent Precision Drill Team performs. The NCC's 55th Officer Cadets Course Graduation Parade will be held on 10 Nov 09 at 1900 hr at NCC Campus. Drawing of no.1 uniforms will be on 5 & 6 Nov (PM) Rehearsals are scheduled on 9 Nov (PM) and 10 Nov (AM + PM). A selection date will be scheduled for the appointment holders in due course. Applicants must have attended the NCC Advanced Drills Course. The following parade appointment holders are available:
