DEMISE OF MR. PAUL LIM (HQ NCC STAFF)

Our longest serving staff, Mr Paul Lim, who has served HQ NCC for 36 years, passed away peacefully on 12 May 08. He is a treasured icon at HQ NCC. He will be truly missed. The funeral wake is situated at Blk 879, Woodlands St. 82 from today until 15 May 08. The funeral will be on 15 May 08 at Mandai Crematorium Hall 4 at 3.45 pm.

I strongly encourage you to pay your last respects and wish him well for his final journey back to God. Your presence will definitely make a difference in honouring our treasured icon. He is a fine example of our motto, To serve with pride and dedication.

NCC FREESTYLE DRILL (3 TO 8 Dec)

The NCC Freestyle Drill was conducted from 3 to 8 Dec at NCC Campus. We were privileged to have 3 Drill Instructors from the USA. They are Master Sergeants Ray, Ken and Robert. The Cadets truly enjoyed the week long course and now are equipped with the skills and knowledge to start an exhibition drill team at the various school units. Venue: Republic Polytechnic

Attire: Day 1 & 3 = No. 3 uniform, Day 2 (Conference T-shirt)

Registration Fee: $10.00 (Paid by HQ NCC)

Participants will receive a free conference T shirt will be given and a set of commemorative postal stamp highlighting all the uniformed groups.

The objective of the conference are:

a. To raise the profile of the Youth Leaders of Uniformed Groups
b. To formally engage Youth Leaders of the various UG on a national platform
c. To create awareness of national and global issues and to engage our Youth Leaders in meaningful discussions on these issues.

Most importantly, you would be contributing to the crafting of the vision of the UG movement in Singapore.

I am urging all CLTs to come forward and register for this event. Stand up and be counted. Your small contributions will go a long way for NCC to achieve its Vision.

The NCC Day Parade was conducted here (see pic) yesterday was a blast. I have never felt so proud. The marching in of the Supporting Contingents were remarkable and the performance of the Guard of Honour contingents were outstanding. Everything went as planned and the journey we all took to each here has been all worth the effort, sweat and tears of everyone.

I would like to thank every Teacher, CLT and Cadet for your hard work, unfailing dedication and your resilience for a parade well executed. Be proud, stand tall as we made history by conducting the parade at "OUR CAMPUS" and i hope from now onwards all NCC Day Parade would be conducted here as we have set the standard for others to follow.

This is my grandmother. She is 95 years old and she just passed on this week in the early hours on Tuesday morning. It has been a hectic week for me in the midst of running the Cadet Specialist Course, Change of Command and NCC Day Parade rehearsals. Commandant & the staff of HQ NCC has been kind and understanding on allowing me to handle the funeral administration. I am sincerely grateful to all, who sent their well wishes and comforting words during this difficult period. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. I will be back to work next week and looking forward to your continued support. Cheers.
